I only had a toile strap, two sandhill slings, and a sugar skull embroidery to finish up from the unfinished tote box.

The strap was easy peasy, I turned it into three wristlets and I’ll eventually make matching pouches. Someday. Not this month!

This Sandhill Sling was almost completed last week but I had some finishing touches and wanted to add some flair with this key tag from Ruby Star Society!

I had originally planned to keep this sling so tried using “by Annie Soft ‘n Stable for the interfacing on the front panel and quilted a star block. It turned out great and I don’t really need another sling so this will eventually go to someone else.

I always put a key strap inside the slings. And a zipper pocket along with an interior slip pocket.

On this version, I used bronze gold for the hardware. Because there’s flecks of gold in the quilting fabric. (Interior, front panel, and shoulder strap are all Speckled from Ruby Star Society.)

The second Sandhill Sling I finished this week is Rifle Paper Company fabric. I’ve already made at least three from this material and I had cut this one out quite some time ago. It was very popular but I got tired of working with it. And now–at last–it’s finished!

The hardware is matte black. I recently started using it and I think it looks cool.

After pondering what I would do with the sugar skull and coming up with many ideas but none I really liked, I moved it over to my Halloween project box. Nothing like procrastinating by switching things around! Just need to get my spooky mind set going!

Now I have a tote full of finished totes bags and I’m spending a day cleaning, sorting, and organizing my sewing studio.

And then back to some more stitching!
