The Halloween panels
Okay. Now for the panels.
Starting with how I ended up with more than I could possibly finish before Halloween…..

I wanted the panel on the upper right, “Till Death Do Us Part” by Deborah Edwards for Northcutt. It would look so cool in my living room! Right?
Saw it on Instagram, went out to the website that advertisd it, SOLD OUT!
So sad! But, there are always other options….
Went out to Etsy, typed Halloween Panel, and 10,000 choices came up. Okay, that might be a slight exageration. But there were a lot.
I was able to buy the skeleton couple…… plus more!
As a teen, I read ALL the scary books. And Edgar Allan Poe was one of my favorite. (Stephen King’s “Carrie” didn’t come out until the year after I graduated.)
I had to buy The Raven from the Gothic Halloween line from Clothworks. No choice.
The panel on the lower right in the very top photo is part of that same line. (It’s actually two panels!) I thought I’d make them into place mats. But when I started cutting the it up, I second-guessed that decision. Who wants to have a snake or a casket or a grave yard under their dinner plate? I’m still trying to figure out what I will do with them and they might go back into the Halloween box for next year!
I kinda wish I had bought more from the Gothic Halloween line because they are probably limited releases and when the fabric is gone–it’s gone! But I’ll wait until next August to check it out and buy more or something else.
Anyhow, I now have two quilted wall panels.
For the skeletons, I used a gray fabric I had in my stash for the backing and black and white striped fabric for the binding. My “go to” for Halloween projects.
But I didn’t use it on the Raven. Instead I bought a brown grunge that matched perfectly with the brown of the panel. Also used it on the back. I bought enough to use on the placemats but since that’s not happening, I have some nice brown for a future project.
I’m using twine to hang these panels but I have also used Command Strips which I planned to brag about. I used it to hang the North Dakota piece a few months ago. It was working great until last weekend when I found the little quilt on the floor. One of the command strips had given up. I put it back up with a new strip but not sure how long that will last!
Here’s the back of the Raven panel.
It is now hanging in my kitchen. Right outside of the dining room.
The “Till Death Do Us Part” quilt is in the guest bedroom for now. While my son was putting the heater in my studio last week he said that he thought it was pretty cool. It might be going home with him!
I’ve been working on a few more fun spooky projects that I hope to share next week. Then I’m done with Halloween—onto other fun ideas.
