Sirena Summer Tote Challenge
It’s been a while since I took part in a “challenge”. The last one I did was two years ago, The Manchester Metallic Summer Bag Challenge with SewMamaSew. Since I had already planned on buying some fabric from the Sirena Art Gallery line, thought the Sirena Summer Tote Challenge would be a fun project!
So I’m designing a new tote. It will be similar to the “Hand Stitchery Bag” that I posted the tutorial for last week. The dimensions are changing a bit. Not quite as wide. A little taller. And the handles will be padded. I’m calling it the “Let’s Go! Tote”. It will be a good size to carry stuff in–but not too big.
I LOVE all the fabrics in the Sirena Fabric Collection and it was really hard to pick which ones to use. Finally I settled on these four:
Of course, I had to have mermaids! And I love octopuses! But I actually designed around the sharks! How cool are these handles???
The schedule that I’m working with, I should have the first bag finished by next week and posted on Tuesday, July 24th.
I like to make TWO bags when I’m designing. One to write the tutorial with and the second to make sure the tutorial is correct. I’ve gotta lotta sewing to do in the next few weeks!
According to the rules of the challenge, I have to have the tote posted on Pinterest by July 31st. And then the winner will be the tote that has the most likes from August 1st through August 5th.
So……
On August 1st, I will post the second bag and the tutorial for the “Let’s Go!Tote”. You go to Pinterest and like it. And I win. A bunch of fabric.
Okay, I’m not expecting to win but it’s fun to try!
More details next week!
