I have a design wall!
Finally! Yippee!
We followed Christa Quilts tutorial that calls for insulation panels, a flannel sheet, duct tape, staples, screws and washers. I recommend her blog for all things quilty. I even bought her book about free motion quilting which I can actually kinda sorta do now! Thanks Christa!
I had a BIG BLANK wall in my sewing studio that was crying for this design wall. But I couldn’t get the insulation panels home. I have picked up lots of furniture and building supplies in my SUV but these were 8 feet by 4 feet. Just too big.

My son came to the rescue and picked up the panels for me in April. And then it was too cold in my studio to work on them. Again, Alan came through with three small space heaters. I ordered a California King flat flannel bed sheet.* Duct taped the panels together.

Wrapped it with the flannel sheet and attempted to staple the sheet onto the panels. The staples wouldn’t stay. They pulled right out! Not to be defeated, more duct tape to the rescue!

Alan and Lauri stopped by and mounted the sheet covered panels.
Voila!
DESIGN WALL!
And the giant heater in the corner? Can’t be repaired–unsafe per the professional. But it’s spring finally, and I have three heaters. Have plenty of time to make a decision!
