HST Love Quilt Finale
This quilt has taken forever….but I’m DONE.
I was thinking about all the steps to make a quilt from beginning to end.
For me, it’s Design (see photo above), Cut, Piece, Stitch, Baste, First Trim, Quilt, Second Trim, Label, Binding, Glamour Shots.
With a lot of pondering in between each step about color, fabric, placement….always lots of pondering. And quite often lots of time spent waiting on supplies to arrive.
I knew exactly the fabric I wanted for the backing–this beautiful bandana paisley piece.
And I wanted a small floral for the binding. But wasn’t crazy about what I ordered.
I interviewed some fabrics I had in my stash…
I think they would have all worked. But they weren’t what I was looking for. I ordered another small floral then thought maybe a dark blue gingham would work. Went to my local quilt shop, Beyond the Stitches, and they had every color of gingham except dark blue. But it was on order. So I decided whichever fabric arrived first–the floral or the gingham–would be the binding. And the winner is….
Perfect!
Took it to the Old Homosassa Heritage Park and Working Waterfront for a Friday evening happy hour. With a bottle of chardonnay in my Firefly tote.
Here I am trying to hold it up in my back yard for glamour shots. It’s just a little too long.
Convinced Terry to go back to the park and pose with the quilt.

Glitches aside ~ your quilt turned out beautifully. It is Awesome! Worth all the little bumps in the road. Those of us who make quilts have hit similar bumps. Congrats!
Thank you so much Pamela! I love the quilt and this one I am keeping! I’ve ordered all the fabrics for my next quilt already and waiting for it to arrive. But I’ll most likely run into more delays that I didn’t anticipate!

Your quilt is lovely. I hope you don’t mind I am copying it. Did you machine quilt the X’s in the fabric or hand quilt them?
I am so glad you like the HST Love Quilt. Because it is made out of denim, it is so durable and it gets used and washed a lot!
You are welcome to use the pattern. That’s why I put it on my website. (Also for me to remember how I made it!) And yes, I did machine quilt diagonally across the quilt and through each block. I think it would be very difficult to hand quilt through the denim!
