Hexie Pillow with Ruby Star Society Fabrics
Waaaaay back during the days of Black Friday shopping last year, I bought this fabric from the Etsy shop, Handmade is Heartmade.
And then I saw another colorway of the Sunbeam fabric and ordered it from HunnieQuilt. Also, on Etsy.
I only buy fabric now if I have a project for it, and for these fabrics, I had lots of plans!
I love this design of Sunbeam Rebels–the simple lines of the women, their fierce faces, and those kiss lips. Strong, beautiful women! And I know so many of those women in real life and I had to have the fabric !
I started out with making many beer bags!
I gifted these to friends and a few young women that are just starting out on their life of being fierce!
Next up was a pillow for a friend. This was inspired by a post from Modern Handcraft. I love her hexies and made a table runner from her instructions several years ago.
For this pillow I was “inspired” but went in my own direction. I used the Linear Charm Pack and fussy cut the hexies.
It looks really great at my house! I love all the bright colors and the geometric shapes–along with the fierce women.
But, I made it for a friend, so I sent it home with her. (sad face)
I have lots of the Sunbeam fabric left so the next project with this fabric is a pillow for me! Just need to get another charm pack to make the hexies–back to Etsy!
