Christmas Hexie Quilt
This past weekend I was obsessed with getting the Christmas Hexie quilt top finished.
And I did it!
52 high by 55 wide Throw size.
I started out with this fabric and templates back in July….
The above selection is from two designers from Art Gallery Fabrics. It’s a curated “fat eighth”. The FA LA LA fabric that I used for the background is by Riley Blake. I bought all of it from SoJo Fabric on etsy. I think she provides good service and ships out almost as soon as she gets the order. (I don’t get paid for saying that. I just like to let my readers know where they can get nice fabric and good service!)
I did lots of fussy cutting!
And stitching by hand.
Now I need to order some minky for the backing. And then I’ll be ready to quilt–with the sewing machine! (Cause I’m not sure if all that hand-stitching will hold together!)
And, I just got permission to go without my crutches/walker. I’m limping along very slowly but by the time the backing comes in I think I’ll be able to go upstairs and baste the quilt together. (fingers crossed!)
Should be done before Christmas!

Love this one! So subtle and different for a Christmas quilt. Also glad to hear you can walk without aides. Take it slow.
Thanks Terry! I’m looking forward to finishing and using it for this Christmas!
