Cats in Pajamas, the Blocks
Did I mention that I planned on making this quilt last year? I bought the background fabric waaaaay back then. And the cheetah fabric that I used for the bengal cat.

But I did not buy the pattern. Until April 2025.
Because I had a lot going on in 2024 and I never had that time slot to actually cut up another quilt. (Or I didn’t prioritize that time slot.)
Anyhow. Here we are. With “Cats in Pajamas”. Because my kids and grandkids are all super cat lovers. As am I.
I went to the local quilt shop, Bismarck Sewing and Quilts, and bought the browns, cream, aqua, and purple for Yuki and Barnaby. I don’t have a lot of purple or brown in my stash so it was a good thing to add those colors. (Piper’s bedroom is purple so I had to give Barnaby purple pjs!)

I also purchased some of the orangey brown for the calico cat. This one is representative of all the calicos in my life. First there was Whiskey (my DC family’s cat), then Miss Kitty and finally Athena.
Speaking of Athena, her parents are “munchkins”. Those cats with short legs—the corgi or dachshund of the cat world. Except, these munchkin parents don’t always have short legged cats—unlike corgis or dachshunds. Out of a litter of five, only two were munchkins. The other three were long legged. Two were male gingers—Ron Weasley and Ed Sherrin—the third was a calico—Athena. (There might have been teens involved in the naming, so why didn’t they call the calico Taylor?)
Ed went to friends of mine. Ron is still with his parents. The munchkin kittens went for a high price. Athena is living the high life with us. Ed texts Athena every year on their birthday which was last week.
(I love Athena, really, as I put peroxide on my latest attack because I was trying to take this photo!)
And back to the Cats in Pajamas…..
For Bouncer, Mattie, and Pewter–gray cats that are no longer with us.
A tuxedo cat because I just like black and white cats.
Six cats down. The small quilt is this number. The large quilt is 12. I can put this together and make a small quilt which I’m sure that almost 3-year-old Arthur will love….
Or make another six and have a nap quilt…..
It’s actually a fun block to make. The problem is, I have SO MANY OTHER things I want to make!
I will put these six blocks on my NEW DESIGN WALL when and if I get it installed and consider what I will do!
And I ponder…..

Love these! My cat beer bag is used when I go to my craft group and gets lots of compliments!
Hope Spring has arrived in ND
It was warm and breezy today. Unlike the entire past month with very cold temps and gale force wind. I am beginning to have hope for spring!
Fabulous!!
Thanks Trisha! Miss you!
