Another Project Update
Three weeks ago I posted about getting my UFOs done before I started anything new. And I did pretty good in those three weeks.
The “Well Loved Quilt” is finished, delivered, and well loved again!
The “Tyger Tyger Burning Bright Quilt” should be finished by this weekend! I’m making it for a friend’s 60th birthday. I’m trying a new quilting method and it’s taking FOREVER! Usually I do simple straight lines. But decided to try a spiral. Spaced 1/2” apart. I’ve already put over 6 hours into just the quilting! Yikes! We had a small birthday party for her on Saturday and I showed her what I’ve done so far. And she loved it. Says she’ll wait. More about that next week! (I hope!)
Haven’t started back on the “Tell Me a Story Quilt”. It’s hanging on the Murphy Bed back there for inspiration!
And, of course, at last four granddaughters have mermaid tails.
Speaking of mermaids….My niece Michelle and her husband Jon are moving from Weeki Wachee, Florida—official home to mermaids—to Phoenix, Arizona.
It’s hot here–but that’s a whole different kind of heat!
Anyhow, they spent the night at our place since they didn’t have any beds at their house. The main guest room is also my sewing room. Thought I’d snap some pics of what it looks like when we have company.
And in about 10 minutes I can turn that back into my sewing room!
I’d show you the other wall but I decided after taking this lovely neat photo, that I really needed to move some furniture around.
Because I ordered a Cricut Maker. Yep, I drank the koolaid. Read so many blogs about how great the Maker is and how it would change my quilting life. Plus my daughter-in-law has the Silhouette and an older Cricut and she does some really cool stuff with them.
The Cricut Maker arrives very soon and I need a new surface which prompted the rearranging.
And I better get all those UFOs done before it gets here!

So excited for you!!! Can’t wait to see what you do with your cricut machine.
I’m looking forward to using it! Not sure for what!
