Heart Blocks Done!
I brought two Works in Progress (WIP) with me to our summer home.
The first was the holiday quilt which I am happy to say that I put together in July.
I will be doing all the trimming, basting, quilting, and binding when I get back to Florida where I have all the fun sewing tools. Looking forward to this finish.
The second was my heart blocks quilt. I’ve been playing with these blocks for a few years. It’s been a fun easy peasy project. Mostly using scraps. You can find the PDF for this block here: Heart Strips Block
I only had one color to add when I left from Florida. Purple! I cut up 1 1/2” strips from my stash before heading to our summer home but I don’t use a lot of purple. Didn’t have quite enough so I picked up 2 coordinating fat quarters at the Bismarck Quilt shop.
And added these five blocks.
Nine different colors!
I’ll be moving these blocks around but here’s the first rendition.
White strips will be added between the blocks. But that’s after I get back to my Florida sewing room—where I have cutting tables and mats and plenty of quilting rulers. These are going into a container for the drive back!
Happy I was able to meet my goals with both of these quilts. The only quilting project left is a dinosaur themed sham for grandson Arthur’s bed. I’ve been putting it off because of all the tiny pieces–but it’s time to get this one finished!
