Where have I been?
Okay, it’s happened before.
I suddenly disappear.
From the kingdom of blogdom.
I’ve been AWOL for almost a month. I’ve missed posting my monthly QAYG block for February. (And it was one I was really looking forward to.) I have lovely fabric stacked on my cutting table ready to be turned into a comfy quilt. An almost finished mermaid stares at the ceiling wondering when her lovely pink locks will be sewn on.
I did finish one bag and I would post about it, but can’t remember how I did it. Where are my notes?
No I do not have a severe case of depression nor have been committed to a rehab center.
So where have I been?
I volunteered to create a video for my favorite local community group to help raise funds. We were having a “red-carpet premiere” and I wanted to make the pre-screening movie. Knowing full well that I didn’t know the software enough to produce the project I intended to make.
And my desktop computer decided it couldn’t handle the demands. After a lot of tearing of hair and renting of clothes, I found that my laptop was up to the task. But barely.
I work better under pressure!
I read manuals, and watched video tutorials, and interviewed people, and downloaded music, and edited photos, and pulled it together. I finished the video the morning of our gala event. And the premier was very successful and we raised a lot of money. (not enough but a lot.)
And now I know the software and am excited to use my new skills for other projects.
I even bought a new computer and updated the software. Not in time for the gala event. Just got it yesterday. But I have plans. All of those movies I have taken on my fancy dancy HD camcorder? I will conquer you! Yes, Alan and Lauri, Jes and Andrew, fancy dancy movies are on the way.
In the next year or so…..
My sewing machine is still covered in it’s little plastic shroud.
I miss you sewing machine, and fabric, and thread, and rotary cutter, and …….
Hoping to be back soon with lots of sewing projects. In particular my QAYG Block of the month. Just drew out February.
Probably ought to finish that mermaid and create a pattern to distribute.
So much I want to do! So little time!
Now I need to sit down at the machine and start sewing!
Jeeze…..
