Tuesday Updates
It’s the middle of September!
One of the many people I follow on Instagram said that she was so grateful to be entering the “ber” months….
September, October, November, and here in North Dakota…..
DecemBRRRRR
We are not planning on being in ND for the snowy times but we do want to spend Thanksgiving with the ND family and then fly out somewhere south. Probably not Florida, but somewhere that the snow melts between falls and does not pile up into skyscraper high drifts. (Yes. I have been here in the winter and can attest to the drifts!)
We were in Mandan for Thanksgiving 2012. Fourteen years ago! Just some light flurries. Hoping for the same weather.
Sewing Studio Update
(Sewing Studio is what I’m calling the space now. Could change next week!)
Almost ready for prime time!
I’ve patched, painted, trimmed, and did all the stuff.
It’s taken forever because I want to do everything myself! And I’m lacking some skills!
I pressed Terry into duty. I’m not very handy when it comes to power tools but I will learn. We hung hooks and shelves. We pulled up old flooring and I removed the trim around the bottom. Next up painting that trim and reinstalling it. After new flooring.
Terry was on the ladder with glue and a drill so I decided it would be safest if I removed the temporary design wall. I had already pinned the backing for the Lucy quilt on there while I was waiting for batting to arrive. I pulled the whole thing down and rolled it up. I have a bunch of Halloween projects in my head that I’d like to complete before the spooky day so Lucy may not be finished until much later. (Maybe spring?)
Even Athena came out to help. She is sitting on my new DIY cutting table. More details about that in a future post.
Here is the back of the studio. I will eventually have a small deck put here. A quiet place to read and enjoy the view.
And I have an amazing view. Here are some snaps from mid-September in Mandan, North Dakota.
And one more pic of Athena!
Back on Thursday with a completed quilty project! (maybe)

All is coming together nicely!
Thanks! I feel like it is taking FOREVER! By the time I get it finished, it will be snowing! But, I think it will be wonderful!
