The 2019 Christmas Mystery Quilt — The Finale!
Done. Done. Done.
I think the above snap is humorous but it does tell a story which good photos should do. The funny part is that I usually focus right in on my projects when I take a picture. But the sewing coach for our Sew Cool! Workshop took this snap and got most of the room. I could have cropped it but there’s a story of a day here. You can see where the kids stack the chairs after ukulele practice. There is gluten free banana blueberry bread on that little round table. And that tape on the floor? That marks the size of the stage the Homosassa Ukers will be playing at next. The sign behind me is the one I made with my Cricut Maker. A snap of my life! Whenever I look at this photo, I will clearly remember the day.
Anyhow, I digress.
Let’s talk about the quilt. I’m calling it “Be Merry and Bright”.
Just like that photograph, quilts all have a story. First the fabric selection and then all the little bits and pieces cut up and then stitched back together.
And then stitching some more….
And then the basting. No, not like Thanksgiving turkey….
Next up, back to the sewing room and pressing all the layers together.
QUILT, QUILT, QUILT and then…
This quilt will be a wall hanging so next up is making the sleeve and attaching it.
Are we done? Nope. Gotta wash and dry it. I always throw a Shout Color Catcher in with quilts and fabric.
And now the photo session!
Done!
Perhaps more photos when I actually decorate for Christmas!
