Sweet Little Things Quilt
Okay. I’m going to say right up front. I have stuff going on. Good stuff. But busy stuff. So this post might be a bit short and my photos are perhaps not the best.
Terry (that’s my husband) ran the Homosassa Arts, Crafts, and Seafood Festival. Of course, being the first lady, I was there the entire time. Before and After. And it was a great time. The weather was perfection. We had more visitors than ever. The festival which took place last weekend was a HUGE success. Everything was PERFECT. Okay not really but as close to perfect as a small fishing community can get!
And being totally serious. Our biggest problem is that there is only ONE way in to Old Homosassa. So when 13 thousand people tried to get to our little community, there were some traffic issues. I saw a LOT of comments on FB that people just gave up and turned around. I have NO idea how to fix that.
But anyhow.
I still manage to sew every morning. That’s because I don’t actually sleep. But I’m okay with that. Sewing is my stress reliever. Stuff going on? I’ll just retreat to my cave and stitch a bit.
Here is my quilty quilty thing this week.
I actually finally finished the last two blocks of the Happy Little Things Quilt. I’m making two of these quilts. The first I’m following the tutorial from Jacqueline Steves very closely. The second I have turned inside out and upside down and made my own colors scheme and center block.
And that’s what I’m posting about. I’m calling it my Sweet Little Things Quilt. Lots of Candy and sweet little reindeers and gifts.
Here’s block three:
And block number FOUR!
And now that I put that little Merry Christmas 2019, I actually have to get this sucker finished. In 2019!
Gotta say, I’m not a “professional” quilter. I made lots of mistakes on designing those center “gifts”. But I’m very happy with how they turned out.
Besides figuring out how to make sweet gift packages on each block, the most difficult thing has been trying to keep all that one way fabric going the right one way!
But it’s been fun. And a challenge. And a stress reliever! Totally love having my sewing cave and a place to escape!
