Spring has Sprung!
Our weather is BEAUTIFUL!
The flowers are blooming.
The butterflies are back.
Love this time of year and I’ve been busy busy busy.
And what have I been up to?
Started my QAYG for April.

Created my own design this month. Does this look like a butterfly?

And now?

TOTAL FAILURE! Didn’t make the pieces the right size, didn’t like the colors. The prints were all wrong. Back to the drawing board! Or graph pad in my case.
I did have a minor victory. I think I’ve finally decided that the mermaid pattern is done! Going to make a few more, do photos, and put the pattern here.
My granddaughters helped me design these dolls. Piper is 5, Kendall is 7, and Addison is 9. They had very exacting demands and we even made shopping trips to pick out their fabric and yarn for the hair.

The one on the left goes to Addison, the pink beauty is for Kendall.

Kendall added the flower headband. She found the crocheted posie in my yarn basket from back when I was obsessed with crocheting a few years ago.
Piper designed this one last summer. I still need to make her one with a full head of hair.
Besides the mermaid, I’ve been working on a shark pattern. For grandson Jack. He’s just not interested in mermaids!

I only had black felt for this first version of the shark. Usually takes me at least 5 versions before I’m happy with the final product. Next up will be gray as soon as the fabric arrives.
And since it’s so wonderful outside, I’ve been working in the yard and planting new pots.

Starting a succulent planter. Going to put all these into the larger box.

Flamingo got a little update with coleus, english ivy, and sweet potato vine.
Should have the “Quilt as you Go” block up next week!
More to come!

WOW! You sure you don’t want to sell those mermaid dolls? I really like the shark, and I couldn’t stop laughing at how it was posed! A piece of perfect from perfect
I’d have to sell those mermaid dolls for a couple hundred apiece even if I wanted to make $10 an hour! The shark is easy. I will make some for Piper and Adley after I get one done for Jack!
