Quilty Thursday Thoughts
Partners in Design released their new Mystery Quilt-A-Long and the theme is sewing. Which is very cool!
The Sewing Machine by Sandra Healy Designs is the first block.
But…..
I put a lot of thought into this and I just don’t have enough hours in the day to start a new quilt right now. Something’s gotta give!
I’ll have more time after school is out. Right now I’m at the Old Homosassa Learning Center and organizing classes for over 20 hours a week. Doesn’t sound like all that much until I throw in all the hours that it takes to keep up the community websites and my own blogs.
Sooooooo….
i will download all the blocks and perhaps make wall hangings or pillow covers. An entire quilt is just not going to happen right now.
Plus before I start a new quilt, I am quite determined to FINISH this quilt:
While I was hand embroidering the first fairy, the face started disintegrating. I used Heat ‘n Bond lite on the appliques but I am guessing that the embroidery needle and floss was just too big for her little face. I was so sad I stuck it in my “works in progress” cart and walked away. (Sometimes I gotta do that or I will wad it up in a very large ball and put it in the trash.) But now I’ve pulled it out and am determined to figure out a way to fix it.
I was also working on some hand embroidered blocks for a baby quilt but turned them into wall hangings with hoops for the grandkids’ bedroom. I decided that the embroidery and applique would just not stand up to the washing that a baby quilt needs! But they make very pretty art. I will make one more to complete the series.
I also have a wall hanging to make my daughter Jes. So…. as soon as I get all that done.
Then there will be a new quilt!
