Quilty Thursday
I had planned on having my “Happy Little Things” quilt up today. It’s done. But right now, Wednesday evening, it’s in the washer. I almost always wash my quilts before I post about them. I want to make sure every seam held and every applique is happy. (I’ve had problems with both of those in the past!)
So as my Happy Little Things agitates, thought I’d give other updates.
Yesterday I spent many hours at the Old Homosassa Learning Center. I organize the center. As a volunteer. I love it. We do a lot of very cool stuff. There is a sewing workshop for adults that I have posted about in the past and will mention in the future. Three days a week we have an after-school enrichment program. On Wednesday it is ukulele. Kids from 6 through 12 come here. There are several small people. For free. And we teach them to play a ukulele. Well, we try. Have to say that I am in charge of three kids. Only one really wants to learn. All of them are adorable. I mean these kids are really cute!
So where am I going? I have no idea. Just want to tell you that volunteering is sometimes a trial and sometimes a joy but it is my priority. So. Sometimes I think I’ll post about these great things I made but in reality. Here I am sitting with Mason helping him learn how to make a G chord on the ukulele. And his sweet voice sings “Three Little Birds”. While the other two are practically wresting on the floor.
One of my almost 2020 resolutions was to NOT join any more “Block of the Month” quilting projects. And then Moda brought out Moda Blockheads 3. It’s free. And you don’t even have to sign up–just follow along. And I’m probably not going to do it but I will be following along and watching each block. Which are of course wonderful because these are MODA DESIGNERS peeps! Anyhow, if you are interested just do a search on google or Facebook.
And hopefully next Quilty Thursday I’ll actually have a quilt to share! (But it’s been cold here. Don’t know if I can actually get out and take pics in the great outdoors. This is Florida. It was 38 this morning!)
Next week!

Cold here too! But lucky you don’t live in Southern Florida because they are bracing for iguanas to fall out of trees from the cold snap. That could hurt! And they aren’t dead so don’t gather them up! Would like to see that but imagine the noise! Anyway cold weather seems like a good time to quilt and craft. Stay warm!
