Quilty Thursday
It took over a week to get the batting for the Christmas Mystery Quilt. And because I saw that it would take so long, I just went ahead and ordered fabric for the backing. Therefore. No progress to report! It’s still hanging there on my wall like this:
But it certainly brightens up my sewing cave!
Today, I’m giving you an update on a quilt I made back in July…
This is the “Negative Space” quilt that I made for Jessica and Andrew.
They wanted to use it for a wall hanging so I put a nice quilt sleeve on the back.
Finally, Terry and I delivered it in person to Jes and Andrew back in mid-September.
Of course, we didn’t find time to hang it for her. We were too busy having fun. Eating, drinking, and touring Washington DC. Love visiting that city! Especially because Jes and Andrew live there! Might..as..well show you some pics…
Besides walking every inch of DC from Cleveland Park to Georgetown (well it felt that way at the time) and hitting a farmer’s market and street festival, we toured the Kennedy Center and it’s new outdoor section call “The Reach” which had just opened.
Two places I love to go when I’m out of town — local quilt shops and music stores. We were not able to hit any quilt shops but we did go to two very cool music stores. I love to look, play and hold ukes and banjos. I bought a new ukulele while there so Jessica and I did some “jamming”.
Like I said, we didn’t squeeze in enough time to go shopping for a rod so we could hang the quilt. But…..
Jessica sent me this pic! Andrew’s Dad hung it while he was there last week! Yippee!!!!
My batting and backing have (finally) arrived plus I’ve cut out the binding. Next week–more on the 2019 Christmas Mystery Quilt Sew Along.

The quilt hanging really looked good in that room!
Thanks Terry! I was really happy to see it hanging and it looks great. Hoping to see it in person someday!
