Quilty Reality
Just a wee complaint. It seems that the anticipation of Thanksgiving gets skipped right over every year.
Halloween….Christmas….New Years….and then….cold and depressing.
What happened to “over the river and through the woods……”?
Not that we still don’t cook like crazy and eat ourselves into oblivion….
Anyhow…
While I had fully intended to make some autumnal projects, I was out of town for a couple weeks—preparing our “southern” space for our move in Decembrrrrrrrr.
Now that I’m home again, I’m feeling overwhelmed with all the projects that I had intended to finish before we headed out. Hoping the snow holds off for a little while longer so I can get them done!
My husband has always accused me of trying to squeeze 10 lbs into a 5 lb bag. Sometimes I actually accomplish it!
I still might be able to squeeze in one Fall quilty project before we leave. I bought these lovely 1/2 yard pieces of Tilda Autumn back in September.
I’m usually not drawn to what I call calicos but I really like these pieces. Maybe my design sense is changing. Anyhow, I thought these would be really lovely as maple leaf blocks.
I’m planning on having some blocks done by next week! Perhaps wishful thinking. Anyhow, come back next Thursday and we will check on my progress!

I always keep cornstalks and pumpkins out to decorate for Thanksgiving. It disturbs me as well that Thanksgiving seems to be omitted from our lives. The grocery stores are the only places I see anything and that is only because they want to sell turkeys!
I managed to locate some thanksgiving cards (It was Difficult) and mail them all to family yesterday. Happy Thanksgiving to you.
Right? I think the idea of Thanksgiving cards is super. I don’t recall seeing them anywhere but I will start looking! Happy Thanksgiving!
