Progress
I always underestimate how long projects will take me. Especially when it involves restoring furniture.
So far I have one chair finished. And she is lovely!
Seven more to go!
The table I plan to use in my sewing room has the top stripped and now I’m struggling with the sides. Haven’t even started the legs! Could be awhile before using that in my sewing room. Contemplating buying a cheap folding table to use in the meantime. (Because we can always use a cheap folding table!)
I’m being indecisive about a sewing machine. While I did plan on bringing my Bernina with me to ND, when we couldn’t fit it into the SUV, Terry and I agreed that I would get a new machine for our northern home. But I’m torn on which one. I thought about something like my Brother PQ1500SL because it is such a workhorse and amazing for creating totes. But I don’t plan on making totes while I here. I just need a basic machine that can piece quilts, hem pants, make curtains. Nothing too fancy but not a beginner machine either.
I brought two quilts with me to put together plus the fabric to make a dinosaur pillow sham for my grandson Arthur. Along with some fabric that I used on our remodeling of the basement back in 2015.
The first quilt I will work on is this winter one that I started two years ago. It’s time to start making those Christmas projects so they will be done before for the holidays this year!
The second is this heart quilt that I’m using fabric out of my stash–the next color I’m using is purple.
I do not plan on quilting either one while I’m in ND. I’ll do that when I get back to Florida this fall. I have a beautiful Babylock Unity there that will be put to work on the quilting.
I’m considering getting this Singer HD 4552 because some of the members of my sewing workshop in Fl have it and love it. If you have any suggestions on a sewing machine, let me know!
Hoping to get back to sewing in the next couple weeks.
