Mod Meow for Whiskey

Mod Meow

Several months ago I spotted the Mod Meow fabric by Amanda Niederhauser For Riley Blake on Instagram. I even showed it to my daughter in November when we visited for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, it wasn’t available until March. And I didn’t have anything to make with it. Even though I LOVED it. I’m really trying to only buy fabric that I … ….oh there’s more

In the Garden

In the garden

I’ve been enjoying time in my garden over the last month. The weather is good. But that won’t last much longer. May brings the heat and humidity. I try to get as much done as possible in March and April. Here’s some photos from the last few weeks. Started a new garden where I have NEVER been able to grow … ….oh there’s more

And National Quilting Month is OVER!

scrappy times 3

I didn’t get one quilt finished even though I spent all my sewing time in March piecing and quilting in honor of “National Quilting Month”. But I made substantial progress on three out of the four quilts that were in various stages of stitching. Here’s my Scrappy Times 3 front on Sunday. I probably would have that one finished had … ….oh there’s more

More Quilty Progress

Moda Blockheads 3

I have become borderline obsessed with getting my four unfinished quilts FINISHED! None are complete yet….but I’ve made real progress. First I want to chat a little about the Sew Cool Workshop. This was a really fun program at the Old Homosassa Learning Center. Somedays we would have three women. Others times 15. We didn’t have any set projects. Just … ….oh there’s more

scrappy quilt 3

In honor of National Quilting Month I have decided to work on ALL of my unfinished quilts. And not start new ones this month! And I have made so much progress. I have four quilts that are in various degrees of the quilting process. (Plus a FPP piece that I started last month as a wall hanging which I will … ….oh there’s more

Life this week

azaleas

My North Dakota family came to visit last Monday and can’t leave. Denver has 27″ of snow. Yikes! It appears that every flight in the country goes through Denver. Lauri has been on the phone for hours trying to get them home. So they are “stuck” in sunny sunny Florida for a few extra days! Not bad news for me. … ….oh there’s more

Quilty Progress

quilty progress

Did you know that March is National Quilt Month? Rather than starting more quilts, I will spend March finishing quilts! WooHoo! Starting with my first Moda BlockHeads 3. (I’m making two) It’s all basted and I just finished pressing it. On to quilting tomorrow. I’m really loving the color combos and all the blocks. Here it is on my pressing … ….oh there’s more

Label It!

labels

I like all my storage labeled so I can find my “stuff” quickly and easily. Nothing is more frustrating than searching through numerous boxes and baskets for that one certain item that would just finish that project. This post is all about labeling. First up was the new fabric boxes that I made for more bookcase. Back when I originally … ….oh there’s more

Moda Blockhead 3 Block 56

Finally, back to Moda BH3. Here’s the last block in this over one year project….. Drumroll…… Block 56–Star Dance by Joanna Figueroa I really really like it. Although it has lots of little pieces, I made it in the 6″ size. ‘Cause that’s the size I needed for the quilt top that I am working on first. Several weeks ago … ….oh there’s more

Back to the Sewing Room Refresh

Ikea boxes

My goal in my new sewing room is to get as much sewing and craft supplies as possible neatly tucked away. Organized. Labeled. And pretty! So far I’ve slipcovered the sewing chair, updated the cushions, and added some fun design boards. Next project on my list was to update this bookcase with fabric boxes. Meanwhile, I brought a second bookcase … ….oh there’s more
