Sandhill Sling from Noodlehead

sandhill sling

Waaaaay baaaack at Thanksgiving while we were in DC, my son-in-law was showing how great his new backpack sling was. I believe he got it at Patagonia. He pulled out all of his necessary stuff, like wallet and sunglasses but there was also an apple, a can of La Croix, and more! He used it running, bicycling, and just for … ….oh there’s more

Heart Quilt

heart blocks

Thought I’d start out the month of hearts by looking back at one of the blocks I designed last year. While last month I said I wasn’t starting any new quilts any time soon–well, I changed my mind. I was stressing about something trivial and thought I would feel better if I could just cut fabric up in little pieces … ….oh there’s more

Reading in January

Posted on January 28, 2022 by Kathy GreenJanuary 27, 2022 2

I’m expanding my blog a little. A post on Friday! About books! And reading! Once upon a time I was a voracious reader. And I want to get back to reading in 2022. As a child, teenager, and young adult, I read every book I could find. Even when my kids were little—I was rocking a cradle and reading a … ….oh there’s more

Circle Skirt TuTu

Half circle tutu

I have a good friend that threw herself a 70th birthday party last week. A band, lots of catered food, fire pit– just all around fun. The only thing is, she asked everyone to wear a tutu. With my hips…..not flattering attire! But when you are 70 years old and throwing a party–you get to make any request you want. … ….oh there’s more

Nautical Pillows

nautical flag pillows

Several months ago I had a friend give me these beautiful pillows. He had been over for dinner and mentioned that he had the perfect cushions for my white furniture. His wife, who had passed away, did upholstery plus made these pillows for custom orders. He had four left and I came home one day and they were on the … ….oh there’s more

Quilty Goals

Posted on January 13, 2022 by Kathy GreenJanuary 12, 2022
heart blocks

In continuing with Tuesday’s post, I have one firm resolution. I will never purchase jeans, slacks, dress pants, shorts, yoga pants, tights, or leotards that do not have pockets again. Even if the apparel is on clearance. Just Say No. And you know those little tiny almost fake pockets that they put in women’s jeans, shorts, dress pants, and slacks? … ….oh there’s more

Happy 2022

the view

Usually I list a bunch of goals in this annual post. Then I go back and check out how I did at the end of the year. Typically I don’t do so well with those ideas and 2021 was no exception. I feel like I have been going in circles in 2021. Always busy but really not getting much done. … ….oh there’s more

2021 Wrap Up

Posted on January 6, 2022 by Kathy GreenJanuary 5, 2022
Miss Kitty

I’m a week late on my end-of-year wrap up. So much STUFF has been going on that has kept me out of my sewing room and off of my blog! But the company is gone, the parties are over, and the house is de-Christmased. (It looks so empty and sad) Anyhow. It was mostly a good year for us. And … ….oh there’s more

And just like that, It’s CHRISTMAS!

christmas in Homosassa

Cue the holiday music… “It’s the most wonderful time of the year” And aren’t you glad it’s just about over? My husband and I are involved in a lot of volunteer activities all year but especially at Christmas. Not going into details but it keeps us very busy along with the regular family and friend activities. Besides that I did … ….oh there’s more

Oh Christmas Tree

Oh Christmas Tree, Christmas softies

I try to make a special Christmas project every year. It’s been stockings, stuffed quilty birds, santa hats in many sizes, tea towels, aprons potholders……it goes on and on. This year it’s Christmas tree softies! You can find a lot of examples out on Pinterest and Instagram. I used the free tutorial from the Sewing Directory. It’s basically just a … ….oh there’s more
