Truth

Posted on November 5, 2021 by Kathy GreenNovember 23, 2021

One year ago today. I could not walk without help. I smashed my knee on July 4th, 2020. The highlight of an especially terrible year. Had to have surgery to put all those pieces back together. Because as the surgeon said “ we have to fix your knee so when you have to have a knee replacement there will be … ….oh there’s more

Quilty Progress

I was really excited to get back to some UFOs (unfinished objects) after completing the costume challenges from last week. So happy to get back to quilting and the first one I started working on was the “Tell Me a Story” quilt–Daytime Version. I’ve been working on the Nighttime Version for over four years. Seriously. The longest WIP (work in … ….oh there’s more

Sorting Hat

sorting hat

One last “costume” post. It’s after Halloween but I think the Sorting Hat is incredibly popular with Harry Potter fans and can be used all year round for Harry Potter themed parties or even decorating a Harry Potter themed bedroom. All three North Dakota grandkids are huge Harry Potter fans. They all went to Universal Studios last Spring just to … ….oh there’s more

The Costume Challenge

halloween

The big costume sewing challenge started back when the grandaughters in North Dakota asked if I would make part of their costumes for this year’s Halloween. Mmmmmmmm. Ok…… Piper sent me this picture for her costume. It’s Axolotl from Minecraft. Did she want a square box with antennae? After much texting, she then sent me this photo to clarify. Oooookkkkkkk … ….oh there’s more

Skeleton doll

I know, I know, it’s Halloween week and I should have had this posted a few weeks ago. But. Stuff happened. And I really wanted to share how cute this doll was before Halloween! It’s not too late to make. If you spend every free moment cutting, hand stitching, and stuffing. While perusing Instagram, I came across this absolutely adorable … ….oh there’s more

On the Road

Posted on October 15, 2021 by Kathy GreenOctober 15, 2021

Back when I started blogging, I posted a LOT of photographs. That was my main hobby back then. Along with gardening, playing piano, and reading. I’ve expanded my interests over the years and got away from posting my pictures. So many other things to do. But, I still take snaps, with my Canon DSLR and my iPhone. And I thought … ….oh there’s more

Miss Kitty

This is a pic of my “feral” cat attacking my sandals. Have to admit that the cat has a thing about feet. If socks are left on the floor, she carries them into the family room like they are a trophy. My shoes or sandals are attacked as soon as I remove them. Cracks me up. I found the cat … ….oh there’s more

Autumn Decor

Just a little leaf

I’ve been working on headwear for two of my grandkids’ Halloween costumes. Haven’t been able to get back to sewing totes or quilts yet but should be finished with this fun project this week and send them off in priority mail. I did get all my Autumn decor out although it’s 90 degrees here in Homosassa and I’m wearing a … ….oh there’s more

Let’s Go Tote — still testing!

Lets go tote

Happy FIRST DAY OF FALL! Although, there’s not much difference between August and September here in central Florida. Still Hot. Still Humid. Still Raining. We have had more rain this year than in the last 60 years! Yikes. But anyhow…. I finished my second test “Let’s Go” tote. And it turned out beautifully. Of course it had to–all the fabric … ….oh there’s more

Tell Me a Story “Daytime”

Saturday is Moda Fabric’s “Sew a Jelly Roll” day as part of September being “National Sewing Month”. And I would really like to do just that and start a Sunny Day Supply quilt. But not doing it, nor am I stitching up an Autumn quilt, or a quilt with Mod cats, or my annual Christmas quilt. But NO, I have … ….oh there’s more
