Cats in Pajamas, The Pillow Version!

I made the “Dinosaurs” quilt by Elizabeth Hartman a few years ago. It turned out great but took FOREVER! Many, many little pieces. But I thought I was ready to take on another Elizabeth Hartman pattern, “Cats in Pajamas”. “These are too cute. I will make cat quilts for the three younger grandkids—Piper, Adley, and Arthur. And they will love … ….oh there’s more

placemats with binding

I bought this fabric in Garrison, ND the week before we flew to DC. Of course it came with me. I had BIG plans for it. The pieces on either side are an older Gingiber design from Moda–Nocturnal. It is still available on Etsy if you do a search. I don’t recall what the middle fabric was! Sorry! I had … ….oh there’s more

Progress!

progress New kitchen

Like I posted last week, we came home to ND expecting a beautiful new kitchen but were greeted with chaos. At least the contractor warned me a few weeks prior to arriving so I was mentally prepared. But now, all the cabinets are in and the countertops are ordered. Yippee! Besides the kitchen, I intend to do a lot of … ….oh there’s more

placemats

In real life I LOVE TO ENTERTAIN! And I have several small dinners and parties every year. Well, I did when I lived in Homosassa. And prior to that when I lived in Katy, Texas, and before that, Tampa. Now I get regular texts, phone calls, and emails from my girlfriends…..we miss cookie day, Galentines day, chick meetings….. And I … ….oh there’s more

From Cherry Blossoms to Snowfall to Spring Thaw

cherry blossoms

I arrived back in North Dakota last Tuesday. When we landed there was a light dusting of snow. By the next morning we had a lovely 3” layer of beautiful pristine white snow. So pretty….. But it’s APRIL—enough with the snow! By Sunday most of the snow had melted. And it’s supposed to be in the 60s by the end … ….oh there’s more

Potholders

Posted on April 3, 2025 by Kathy GreenApril 2, 2025

This project was supposed to be my main priority when I finally setup my new sewing machine. I cook and bake. A LOT. Potholders are pretty important to me. But. I am easily distracted and made many other hand crafted items first. And besides, I still had all those reindeer potholders I could use! But finally, I can put my … ….oh there’s more

Once upon a time….

butterflies in March Wrap UP

I posted on my blog EVERY WEEK DAY! And I had a LOT of followers. Because it wasn’t all about sewing or crafting. It was about life in the community. Lots of photographs. Of family. Of dogs in the hood. Of gardens. Of cooking and baking. And I moved away to concentrate on all the stitchy crafts. Which I totally … ….oh there’s more

Easter Baskets

Easter Basket DIY

I made these Easter Baskets last year. And posted about them the week of Easter. The first went to my grandson, Arthur, (obviously) the second went to the prize for the toddlers at the community Easter Egg hunt. Fae won–my littlest ukulele player. (With a little help from me!) Easter is April 20th this year. So I thought I’d again … ….oh there’s more

hope jacket tulip tree

Part 2. In a never ending story. There may very well parts 3 and 4 and on into infinity. But for now this is it. I have some fabric in the cold-white-north sewing studio that I’ll be using to add some flair to the collar and cuffs. When I get back there. When it is above 45 degrees during the … ….oh there’s more

Embellishing the Jacket — Part One

embellished jacket with swallows

One of my projects that I want to finish this month is adding some flair to this Sam’s Club denim jacket that I bought a few years ago. I made the “Hope Tattoo” FPP quilt block a few weeks ago for the back of the jacket. Didn’t like the light blue. Not grungy enough. So I just made the word … ….oh there’s more
