dinosaur name pillows

From the middle of October through the middle of November is a crazy busy time for me. The Homosassa Arts, Crafts, and Seafood Festival–I’ve mentioned it many times over the years. Terry and I started running the event back in 2015 and were responsible for just about everything. Terry continues as the chairperson but we now have people in place. … ….oh there’s more

Easy Peasy Fabric Christmas Tree DIY

Posted on November 22, 2022 by Kathy GreenNovember 22, 2022

I haven’t been posting as often as usual—just got over with our big event of the year–the Homosassa Arts, Crafts, and Seafood Festival. Lots of work but we raised lots of money to give back to our community. The little bit of time I have had to sew has been spent on the Dinosaurs quilt for my grandson’s Christmas present. … ….oh there’s more

basic shopping tote with ruby star society prints

Before staring the “Dinosaurs” quilt last week I had to finish this shopping tote that I was asked to make for the “Pamper Me Please” raffle package for the Homosassa Arts, Crafts, and Seafood Festival which is this weekend. The Basic Shopping Tote is easy, versatile, sturdy, and functional. I changed this version a little—I made it a bit larger … ….oh there’s more

Dinosaurs Quilt — Finally Started!

dinosaurs quilt

I have always LOVED the quilt designs by Elizabeth Hartman but didn’t have a reason to make one. I’m the type of sewist that doesn’t make things just because. Especially when I have to PAY for a pattern. But now I have a new grandson that wears dinosaur patterned clothes and has dinosaur prints on his bedroom wall plus a … ….oh there’s more

October Wrap up

Happy Halloween! We attend an annual Halloween party that has a specific theme. This year it was “dead celebrities’ “. Terry and I were Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Ha! I’m not quite old enough to have actually watched their show when it was in primetime back in the 50s, but I did see the reruns. (cause we only had … ….oh there’s more

Bears By the Fire

bears around the fire scrappy quilt

Taaaa Daaaaa….my autumn wall hanging! I have to say I had a “bear” of a time finishing it! But before I go into that sad sad story, some details….. I have always liked the Bear Claw or Bear Paw quilt block. For this quilt I was inspired by the block I made back in February 2021 designed by Robin Pickens … ….oh there’s more

quilty progress bear paw quilt

I’m back! And where have I been? So much traveling. Mostly to see grandkids. Between trips I finally put my autumn wall hanging together. Almost finished. It’s a Bear Paw or Bear Claw quilt. More about it next week. I think I’ll have it finished by then and have some fun glamour shots ready for posting. This is just the … ….oh there’s more

Trick or Treat Bags DIY

I love decorating for every season. Or holiday. Or any celebration. Or perhaps I occasionally just make up a reason…. Halloween is one of my favorite! I waited until October 1st. Too late? Too early? Of course I had to make some Halloween crafts! This “Trick or Treat Bag” is a free project on the Thermoweb blog. I saw it … ….oh there’s more

Some Quilty Meanderings and the September Wrap-Up

quilty meanderings

Hurricane thoughts I have been watching…watching…watching as Hurricane Ian slowly approaches my home. My friends and neighbors met for our regular happy hour evening last Friday night. Of course the topic of discussion was the hurricane. At that point, the storm was coming up Tampa Bay which would have been devastating for us here in Homosassa. We were making plans … ….oh there’s more

Pencil Pouches

pencil pouches

Pencil pouches are a wonderful scrap buster plus they make great gifts. (And they are easy-peasy once you get the hang of them) I made these for two teenagers a few years ago for Christmas. Scalloping is a big deal here in Old Homosassa. Therefore, I added scallop shell appliques. The girls LOVED them! I made these for my two … ….oh there’s more
