Baby Bibs

bib

My 18 month old grandson is visiting this week. It’s been awhile since I’ve taken care of one at this age and I now remember that he has to be watched every moment. Arthur is a very busy little guy! He has no fear and everything must be explored! All outlets are covered, breakables are above his reach, and cabinets … ….oh there’s more

Halloween Hexies Quilt Finale!

Halloween Hexies Quilt

I am so excited that I got the Halloween quilt done! Before spooky season was over! Actually finished it yesterday. I love all the oranges and blacks and the fun prints. This block is my favorite! Dancing skeletons! And this one runs a close second. Cause it’s black cats! The quilt is about 50″ x 68″. Made a poppy little … ….oh there’s more

Firefly Tote Revisited

firefly revisited

I made a new Firefly tote. And I love it. And why did I need ANOTHER tote? A few weeks ago I told Terry that I need a new smaller iPad that could fit into the Sandhill Sling that I use on the daily. He suggested I make a bigger tote! What? Oh yeah, that could be a better idea. … ….oh there’s more

Quilty Meanderings

Posted on October 19, 2023 by Kathy GreenOctober 18, 2023

I’m very excited to say that I might actually finish my Halloween Quilt before Halloween! I’m spending a LOT of my sewing time on it because I know that after Halloween it will go into the Unfinished Objects (UFO) basket. I will not have the enthusiasm to be sewing with black cats and skeletons after spooky season. Plus I’m eager … ….oh there’s more

Easy Peasy Ghosters

ghosters

I’ve had a couple packages of cotton cord in my stuff stash for quite a while. Years maybe. I was always planning to make a fabric bowl. But just kept putting it off. Then I saw the FREE pattern from Bernina. Ghosters! Created by Nicole Daksiewicz from Modern Handcraft. These are the first two I made in my Sew Cool … ….oh there’s more

More about Hexies

more about hexies

It’s spooky season. And I love Halloween. I typically start decorating on October 1st. But not this year. Our house is still on the market and there is an open house on the 5th. So I’ve decided to keep the bats, rats, jack o lanterns and skeletons under wraps until after the open house. Which is today! But I can … ….oh there’s more

Another Denim Shopping Tote

denim shopping tote

I was very excited to dig into my new stash of jeans that I brought back from North Dakota. And I knew exactly where to start. A denim shopping tote, of course! I know, I’ve posted about my shopping totes about 100 times. But I still like making them and I might have a few new readers that don’t know … ….oh there’s more

Halloween Hexies

magic hexie

I usually have a tote full of bits of fabric by my chair that I can turn into hexies. Some fussy cut. All different sizes. It’s an amazingly easy peasy hand stitching project I can do while Terry is watching football or golf or some Western from the 60s. I can cut and stitch and make derogatory comments about his … ….oh there’s more

Renovation Reality 2023

kitchen chairs

Bear with me,–one more post about the progress on our home in Mandan, ND. Then I’ll move on to sewing and other creative adventures in the coming weeks. We started updating this house back in 2014 when my daughter-in-law Lauri and son Alan decided to renovate the basement. Nine years later, we bought the house. Lauri and Alan had already … ….oh there’s more

Back on the Nature Coast

Posted on September 14, 2023 by Kathy GreenSeptember 14, 2023

We were loving our summer in North Dakota, spent a lot of time with our North Dakota kids and took a few trips with the grandkids. We really enjoyed the amazing warm but dry weather. But the leaves were changing, the evenings a little cooler, and a hurricane had hit the gulf coast of Florida. Time to go back to … ….oh there’s more
