On the Road
Back when I started blogging, I posted a LOT of photographs. That was my main hobby back then. Along with gardening, playing piano, and reading. I’ve expanded my interests over the years and got away from posting my pictures. So many other things to do.
But, I still take snaps, with my Canon DSLR and my iPhone. And I thought I’d start putting some on here on Fridays. Not every Friday. Just here and there.
Terry and I have been trying to take road trips since we are no longer under pandemic rules. (Actually, in Florida there are no rules!)
Anyhow. We take our short road trips in our red convertible. (Usually under 5 hours) Longer than that we go in something that can hold more luggage and a wee bit more comfortable. For our recent trip we went to the “Golden Isles” in Georgia. Only about 4 hour drive from Homosassa. We mainly stayed on St. Simons Island and celebrated our anniversary and Terry’s birthday which are only a few days apart.
If you haven’t been to St. Simons, it is a beautiful area with many restaurants and shops. And, of course, the Atlantic Ocean! For more of a natural environment, Jekyll Island is a short drive from there and Sea Island is actually just a part of St. Simons Island and is home to many great golf courses and resorts.
Here’s all of my luggage. Not much room in the trunk so we use soft-sided pieces. All of these were made by me!
You might notice that it’s almost all fabric from Rifle Paper Company. Even the lining of the hat which you can’t see in the above photo and my toiletry bag below.
Here are some photos from the trip!
It was great to get away for a few days. But back to the sewing room! I have projects to complete!
