My Next Quilt
I’ve been planning on starting another quilt. I like to have ONE quilt going along with one or two other sewing projects.
But…..
I like to have a quilt finished before I start the next one. I’ve been putting together my monthly QAYG blocks since September and I’m having a hard time starting another one until that one is finished. I know, weird for a quilter. I’ve been told that most quilters have several quilts going at the same time. And this one really only needs me to finish one quilt block a month. (and how many times can one use “one” in one paragraph?)
But……
Seriously, there’s these quilt blocks hanging on my wall. I can’t get beyond that. I’m goal oriented. I like to have a goal, reach it, then start something new.
But……
I’m going to try and break out of my comfort zone and start working on The Splendid Sampler.
I’ve been downloading all the blocks from the Splendid Sampler. 100 different free patterns for 6″ quilt blocks created by 64 different designers. They are already on block 27 and I haven’t started the first one.
27 behind. I got some catching up to do.
And I’m gonna start
NOW!

I’ve been wanting to make a quilt for the guest bedroom and I think that’s where this one will go.
It will be in aqua and red. I’m weirdly drawn to this color combo. I actually have a storage basket marked AQUA. And a bag of red fabric.
And it just happens to be perfect for the guest bedroom!
Pulled almost all of the aqua and red pieces pieces from the charm pack, Vintage Picnic.
And I just saw a new Moda line called Little Ruby that has the same colors. (and immediately ordered a charm pack)
Since the blocks are all only 6″, I should be able to make most of it with charm packs.
So.
That’s my next big project.
