More Progress
I fully intended to post last week but the days flew by and then it was this week. (Does that make sense?)
My two granddaughters spent several days with us for “Grammy Camp”. Eight-year old Adley created lists of things to do and food to buy. We managed to squeeze it all in (plus more!) even though they still slept until noon almost every day.
Meanwhile, work on the house continued while the girls got their 12 hours of sleep in. Got some walls painted, furniture refinished, curtains hung…..still so much more to do!
I stopped at the Bismarck Quilt Shop to check out their sewing machines ($$$$) and I bought some fat quarters. (Because you really can’t go to a quilt shop without buying something and it wasn’t going to be one of those super duper amazing machines!)
Okay, I know it’s July and us sewists are supposed to be making Christmas projects, but I loved these fat quarters and had to get them. And I started right into using these pieces to make hexies for Halloween fun. Because I love Halloween!
Have no plans for these little cuties at the moment. I thought perhaps a table runner but then I started thinking about how cozy a Halloween themed throw would be with black Minky dimple dot for the backing.
I have a bunch of Halloween fabric in my stash in Florida so when I get back there, I’ll be fussy cutting those pieces to mix in with these, and make my final decision as to what this project will turn into!
And…drum roll….my new sewing machine arrived! Plus I found some volunteers (victims) to carry in my refinished sewing table and set it up. (That table is SO heavy!) Very excited. I haven’t unpacked the sewing machine yet. That will happen today! There will be updates next week!
More and more progress!
