Moda BlockHeads 3, Block 4
I’m loving the Moda BlockHeads 3 quilt-a-long. Block 4 is applique and from Jan Patek. If you have been following along with this blog, you know I LOVE applique. This applique uses a “needle turn” method. I don’t know how to do that. And, right now, thought it would just be a lot more fun to do the way I do know–raw edge. With Heat ‘n Bond Lite. I want to learn the needle turn method. Just not this week.
I did mention last week that I’m NOT using all the blocks in my final quilt. But I am making all of the blocks and many would be in other projects. When I saw this block design I immediately had other ideas!
I’m calling this my “songbird” block. I had been wanting to do a songbird for awhile. I’ve got a couple different fabrics in stock that have musical notations. I appliqued the block onto denim. And it turned into a bag!!!!
This is my pattern, Beer Bag DIY.
I love making these bags. So quick and easy. I give them as hostess gifts and this one will go to a music lover!
Of course, the bag has a pocket! And something has to be in the pocket!
I loved the block. And I love the bag. Might have to keep it! (NO–I have enough bags!)
I made a scrappy interior with some Cotton & Steel fabrics that I keep stashed away. I’ve had these forever and still love them!
I’m behind on the blocks. Block 7 came out yesterday and this is block 4 but I am enjoying doing the blocks as I have time. So much more fun not putting pressure on myself. Loving it!
