May Wrap Up!
I had planned on participating in the #MeMadeMay challenge on Instagram and all I really did is #MakeMeCrazy.
Deciding to sell the house really put me in a quandary. So much to do to get the place ready for the market. And I continue finding more things I need to clean, touch up, or throw out.
Sewing
I did make the free t-shirt pattern from Closet Core that I mentioned in April’s Wrap up. I used some knit fabric I had in my stash for a test version. Sizes are so weird in the sewing world. I know to go by the measurements included in the pattern rather than my regular size but that doesn’t always work either. (no pictures yet.) This shirt is big. The t-shirt I made last year from a different free pattern was a little snug. And every time I get the Serger out I have to learn how to use it all over again. It is SO different from a regular sewing machine. Anyhow. The t-shirt was the only garment I finished in May and I’m not crazy about it! Perhaps I should just stick to making quilts!
Although I always wear my #MeMadeAprons when I cook!
(Hmmmmm, seems like I always have a glass of wine when I’m cooking!)
I wore this dress that I made last year to my grandson’s first birthday party. That’s my son and daughter with me.
I also wore the “snug” t-shirt once. But didn’t get a photo of it. What was I thinking?
I also finished the Giant Chicken Quilt, several pouches, and one shopping tote. More about those in future posts!
Party
While May was a busy month, I did have time for fun!
Held a card party at the Learning Center in honor of Cinco De Mayo. Tried to get Athena to wear a little sombrero. She said NO!
Travel
Went to Washington DC for five days for Arthur’s big birthday party. Both of my kids and their families joined us. Along with my son-in-law’s family. It was a ton of fun.
We all went to a ball game except for baby Arthur and MeMa. We also hit one Smithsonian museum and several went to the zoo while I got to cuddle with Arthur.
Reading
Read two books–“Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow” by Gabrielle Zezin and “The Book Woman’s Daughter” by Kim Michele Richardson.
Gardening
And in closing, here are some flowers from May.
And now it’s June! More fun to come!
