Life this week
My North Dakota family came to visit last Monday and can’t leave. Denver has 27″ of snow. Yikes! It appears that every flight in the country goes through Denver. Lauri has been on the phone for hours trying to get them home. So they are “stuck” in sunny sunny Florida for a few extra days!
Not bad news for me. More time with the grandkids.
We’ve been crafting.
Pipe cleaner animals. We also make fairy houses out of bird houses from Michaels. Paint them and glue on mosaics. Little creatures and furnishings from the Dollar Tree. Told both girls they could pick out 5 things. 10 bucks for cheap entertainment! In past visits we have made stepping stones with puppy prints from Sculpey clay.
They went to Universal because they are all Harry Potter super fans. Fishing trips and an airboat ride. Visiting friends and other family.
Meanwhile, this is perfect gardening weather and while they are out and about I’ve been getting all the weeding and mulching done before it gets too hot and humid to go outside after 10 am.
March and April are my favorite months of the entire year. Along with October and November, these are the reasons that we put up with the heat and humidity of our summers.
My first Monarch!
The azaleas are amazing this year. A cold and wet winter contributed to lots of blooms.
I planted white azaleas when we moved here. Almost 20 years ago. I had read that you should stick with one color for the impact. People walking by our home always tell me how beautiful they are. But I love the mix of colors in this house down the street from me.
Also been playing with my Cricut Maker and trying to find the perfect organizing solutions for all the stuff that comes with that hobby.
Back on Thursday with “Quilty Progress”. And maybe the grandkids will be here. Or maybe they’ll be back to North Dakota!

Nice to have extra time with the kids! Plus Lauri is an expert “cricuteer”! I’d pick stranded in sun any day
