“Let’s Go” Tote Tutorial
Both totes are finished and the tutorial is done. Yippee!

I have double, triple, quadruple checked the instructions. There are a lot of pictures and a lot of words. I think it is pretty easy to follow. But….I’ve looked at it too many times to be a very good judge! If you try the tutorial, let me know. And send some pictures!
For TWO totes, I bought one yard of the shark fabric and 1/2 yard of the other three. I also used 1/2 yard of white quilting cotton for the lining on the first tote and lining for the pockets for both totes. The bottom of both totes is black canvas which is also about 1/2 yard.
I really wanted the mermaids to have some impact.
Cause we love our mermaids here in Homosassa! Just 30 minutes north of the famous Weeki Wachee Mermaids and we have our own local mermaid, Homosassa Red!
So I did some fussy cutting with the mermaids which used extra fabric.
I used plastic canvas for the bottom insert. It’s cheap and I can get it at Walmart if there’s a sewing emergency! (Because we may have mermaids but we do not have any other stores in Homosassa!) You could also use Peltex 71F or By Annie’s Soft and Stable.
Anyhow…..
This is a summer tote “challenge”. Which means that there is a winner and a prize!
For me to win, you have to go to Pinterest and make a comment on my tote. This is what my entry looks like on Pinterest:
You can go to the to Jessica Swift’s summer tote challenge board on Pinterest.
Put a comment on the tote between August 1st and August 5th.
And the one with the most comments during that time wins! I’m not sure what I win. Either a lot of 1/2 yard cuts of fabric. Or perhaps just one 1/2 yard cut of fabric. (I’m obviously not in this for the prize!)
Making the tote was fun and I have two new pretty totes to give to my friends and family!
And you get a detailed tutorial: letsgotote
