“Let’s Go” Tote — Sirena Summer Tote Challenge
So happy! I finished the “Let’s Go” Tote for the Sirena Summer Tote Challenge and it’s beautiful!
It’s really a great size and so bright and pretty! And it has mermaids! And sharks! And octopi! (Octopuses? Squid?)
I love this fabric line from Art Gallery and designed by Jessica Swift and it wasn’t easy to pick out which prints to use. I finally centered on those sharks! So cool for the handles! They’re just swimming along. Like sharks do. Looking for stuff to eat. Maybe mermaids. Maybe octopi!
Then it was easy from there. I like to use black denim or canvas on the bottom of totes. (Why? Cause it’s durable and the dirt doesn’t show!)
After the sharks I picked fabrics that I thought the aqua color complemented.
Happy dance. I’m not good at figuring out exactly how much fabric I need for these projects but I had JUST enough of those sharks to use for the interior.
Swimming around. Swimming around. Chomp. Oh no. These sharks do NOT eat mermaids. Cause those sirens are way smarter than sharks! (Not too sure about those octopi, though!)
The mermaids are on the ends of the tote plus the pockets in the interior. The octopi are on the exterior pockets.
I thought those mermaids needed some company so I stitched up this little mermaid. Okay. Maybe those mermaids didn’t care but I REALLY wanted a little pocket mermaid!
Let’s GO!
I really love this tote! Come back on Wednesday, August 1st, and I’ll have the tutorial posted!
