January Wrap Up
Happy Groundhog Day!
Am I the only one that thinks January lasted like 365 days? It was very cold. It was very hot. Plants died. Others bloomed.
I spent a lot of my sewing time cleaning and organizing my creative cave. Not quite done but I’m happy with progress thus far. I’ve moved onto reducing my scrap stash. Turning it into hearts, hexies, and two inch squares. More about that as this month progresses.
Quilting
I’ve been working off and on on the Dinosaurs quilt. I have completed 16 dinosaurs out of 24. I missed my Christmas goal–this was supposed to be a gift for my grandson and I didn’t get it done in January either. Maybe it will be his birthday present in May! There is no rushing this quilt. Sooooo many tiny pieces. I’m now moving onto a darker shade of green dinosaurs and then only the blues are left!
Reading
My monthly post on books that I read has moved over to the side bar. If you are here for sewing, quilting, or other crafty projects, you will no longer have to suffer through my book reports! But I’m still able to keep track of what books I’ve read and what they were about.
Speaking of the side bar, I’m updating that, too!
#memademay
I want to sew clothes for myself for #memademay which is an Instagram hashtag. The idea is to wear handmade and mended clothes for the entire month of May. (I don’t have to make them all in May!) This month I made pirate costumes for Gasparilla–a big buccaneer takeover of Tampa. While I don’t think I’ll be wearing the costume in my May rotation, Terry and I will be pirates every Halloween forevermore!
As I have been cleaning up my creative cave and other storage spaces in my house, I’ve come across a lot of WIPs and UFOs. Hoping to get onto to those in February! Lots of plans for a short month!
