It’s October and here’s another Project update!
It’s the second day of October! Only how many days until Christmas?????
My Babylock Unity sewing machine went on a spa vacation a few weeks ago. Was supposed to be all nice and refreshed in a few days but the automatic needle threader was bent and a new one is on order. (Yes, I told the lady at the shop–I do need that repaired!)
Fortunately, I have a lovely little Bernina Activa 220 for backup that usually only gets used at the Sew Cool! Workshop and I’ve been catching up on some mending with it. (Yes, you read that right, I did some mending. I even brought the repaired items down to show Terry. Look–I can mend! Who knew?)
I also made the pretty apron that I posted about last week on the Bernina. While the Bernina is a sturdy machine, it occasionally skips stitches–sometimes as much as two inches. I think Little Miss Bernina might also need a spa visit! So, I’m waiting for my Babylock before I do any serious sewing.
Since I’m not getting any quilting done and very little sewing to post about, I thought I’d give you a little update on what I’m working on and what I will be doing for the next few months in the sewing room.
Back in August I posted that I was finishing up some old projects before I started anything new.
And I did clean up some of the UFOs!
Tyger, Tyger, Burning Bright Quilt
I finished four of the blocks from the “Fall into a Quilt-A-Long” since then. Number 11 comes out today and the last block arrives on October 16th!
Ten Blocks Done!
I also made some major progress on the “Tell Me A Story Quilt”. I need to buy some fabric for the borders–as soon as I decide what color I should use!
And I made mermaid tails for the two little granddaughters plus wrote up the tutorial! (Writing the tutorial takes much longer then the actual project!)
So what’s next????
Going forward, I’ll be doing some kitchen projects with the English Garden fabrics from Cotton & Steel/Rifle Paper Company.
Another apron, potholders, hot pads, casserole dish cozy, and dish towels.
I have some sewing projects for the holidays which I probably should have started in July to actually get them done before the holidays! I have procrastinated!
I’m also designing a new tote–this one will be cross body with a zipper on top. Well, at least that’s what I think it will be! Never too sure until it’s finished!
There’s more. My head is bursting with ideas! Just need to get Babylock Back! Cause there’s 29 days until Halloween, 51 days until Thanksgiving, 84 days until Christmas, and 90 days until New Years Eve!!!!!
