In the Garden
I’ve been enjoying time in my garden over the last month. The weather is good. But that won’t last much longer. May brings the heat and humidity. I try to get as much done as possible in March and April. Here’s some photos from the last few weeks.
Started a new garden where I have NEVER been able to grow grass. That’s the patch there with the bird bath. I planted 18 day lilies. Two came up. I have pretty good luck with day lilies and am very disappointed. Maybe nothing will grow in this spot!
A closer shot.
I have two bird baths now. Plan to get a third. Just need to make the trip. Cat birds love the water and “own” this bird bath. Cat birds are very shy so I have never been able to get a picture of them.
Of course, the squirrels use the bird baths. Probably the racoons, too. The water in the canal is brackish so the creatures depend on me!
This is Deedo. I bought him in Ybor City when I lived in Tampa decades ago. Just one little gargoyle.
But. If you buy yourself one little gargoyle. Then friends buy you more. This one doesn’t have a name. He’s too scary and I keep him far away from the house.
Milkweed and Monarch Caterpillars.
My banana tree. I’ve had her for about a year. Here’s what she looked like on April 15, 2020.
And here she is on April 5, 2021!
And just some random snaps.

Beautiful flowers! Love that the squirrel posed for you!
HI Terry! I think she was posing in case I would throw her some bird seed! Crazy squirrels. Just got a new bird bath today. Or I should call it a squirrel trough!
