Happy Tuesday!
My niece sent me a little banana tree several months ago. From Arizona. Who knew that banana trees grew in Arizona? I’m thinking more like cacti. But, nope. Banana trees, too.
I have a few banana trees already and they have not done well. I did some research and discovered that banana trees do not like salt water. When storm surges come through, the brackish water from our canal floods our yard. Not always. But enough that I decided that this banana tree would stay in a pot until after hurricane season. She went from her little pot to a little bigger and then even bigger. I thought that hurricane season was over on October 31st. Asked Terry to plant the tree in the ground.
And this morning our favorite weather lady said that the Hurricane Eta might amble her way up “north of Tampa”. Homosassa fits that description. We (me and my banana tree) are keeping a wary eye out for Eta.
On to what else I’m up to…..
Last week I was looking for a pattern. One that I had designed and I needed to use to update a quilt that I’ve been working on forever. Without that pattern, I would have to redraw the sketches. But I didn’t want to start all over. So I searched.
Which started a complete sweep of my new sewing room, my music room, and the closets in the guest rooms. Every box, bin, and basket.
And then I fell down the rabbit hole….
Well, I might as well take down that temporary design wall and fill in all of these holes and then paint the room. And clean out cabinets, closets, and drawers in all the other rooms. (I think it’s called organizing.)
That’s what I’ve been doing. Packing up the clutter. Sending it to thrift stores. Putting things in the attic. Tossing the junk.
Which means I haven’t got much else done.
But I thought I’d share some more of my Squirrelly Girl adventures. Kind of “out takes” that didn’t make it into the regular posts.
You might remember that The Butter Sisters Bluegrass Band had a gig on Halloween. The girls each decided that they should go out on their own and start solo careers.
One sister went to Piper.
Another went to Adley.
And the third is watching over my kitchen. Chef Butter.
Terry made a picnic table for our wild squirrels.
Chef Butter thought she’d check it out!
That’s it for today! Hoping to get my sewing room back to working condition by next week!
And I did find that pattern!

I too have a picnic table for the squirrels so are we hoping to make them civilized? It has a place for corn cob but that immediately brought a raccoon who would come up to the sliding glass door and stare at the cats!
Like your stuffed squirrels better!
See you sooN
Terry
Hi Terry, Someone sent my Terry a pic of that picnic table and he went right out and built one! This one does not hold a corn cob–just sunflower seeds. We used to have raccoons visit and look through the window but I think that family moved away. glad you like the stuffed squirrels. Adley and Piper were happy with them! Hope to see you soon, Kathy
