Fall Into a Quilt-A-Long Block 6
Block 6 is a pie! Yum. I love pie. Especially peach. Or chocolate. Or cherry.
You get the picture.
This design comes from “Powered by Quilting”
Lots of small bits pieced together and topped off with an applique and embroidery!
Cherry or peach pie would not have fit in with my Fall color selection. And chocolate usually has meringe. Not sure what kind of pie mine is. Rum Raisin? Mince Meat?
I even managed to applique it and embroider it! And it just was released on Tuesday!
I’m being crazy productive in the sewing room! Almost have the second Sirena tote done, too. Hoping to post it on Friday! And I did a whole lot of other sewing projects last week. And why am I being so productive???
Cause there’s not much else I can do! If you have been following my other blog, “Just a Slice of Life In Perfect” you might already know that I have a stress fracture in my left foot. I think I did it back in May while moving plants in the yard (although I tell everyone that it was from kicking butt). I kept thinking it was getting better so I never went to a doctor–FOR TWO MONTHS! Now I’m stuck in this boot for at least 3 more weeks.
I am a VERY active person. Even in hot and humid Florida in July, I usually spend several hours a week gardening. Along with walking two to three miles a day. Yoga twice a week. Kayaking. Bicycling. Volunteering at the Old Homosassa Learning Center Summer Camp.
Now all I can do is swim. (And eat. And drink wine! And gain lots of weight!)
And it’s not easy getting out of that boot, into the pool, out of pool, back into the boot.
Waaaah! Okay. Enough whining about that!
I took a few days off last week to visit friends in North Carolina. And we went to two quilt shops! That is a real treat for me since our closest shop is in Far Far Away! And the best part is, I was able to buy more of that light tan fabric for this quilt that I was complaining that I would soon run out! Yeah! The shop was called “Quilters Quarters”. Great name, right?
Back to the Fall into a QAL. One of the designers, Karen from Tuna Quilts, Travels, and Eats posted about Fabric and Color Selection for Quilt Blocks. Very interesting and informative piece.
Six blocks done. Six more to go!
