Fall Into a Quilt-A-Long Block 4
I was on vacation! Yeah! Fun!
Went to North Myrtle Beach to visit friends, Terry and Phil.
Then on to Washington DC to spend the weekend with daughter Jessica and son-in-law Andrew. (Andrew is Terry and Phil’s son!)
Got home Tuesday afternoon. This was a driving vacation. Nice to not have to deal with TSA or flight schedules, but that was a lot of driving. For Terry. Not me. For me it was a lot of riding. Although I’m an excellent and very safe driver, Terry doesn’t like the way I drive. Which is super-duper with me because then I had time to take some Craftsy classes on my iPad, finish an embroidery project, and read some books. I like driving vacations–very relaxing. Not so relaxing for Terry!
I just joined Craftsy unlimited. (I am NOT a Craftsy affiliate so all of this is totally my opinion!) They had a really good deal called the “Ultimate Quilting Package” of unlimited classes plus a quilt kit plus a coupon for $25 off plus free shipping. For one year. For $120.
During the trip I took two Craftsy photography classes! So much to chose from!
Anyhow….
I’m back and was able to put Block 4 for the “Fall into a QAL” together in record-breaking time!
The block is a sunflower. Created by Sandy Star Designs.
Everytime a new block comes out, I think, ohhhhh, this one is my favorite.
If you have been reading my blog for awhile you might remember back in October 2016 I made a Calendar Quilt
The month of August was Good Day Sunshine because one thing we have lots of in Florida in August is Sunshine! I based it on a sunflower block I stumbled across.
Which was basically the same as this Sunflower block.
Here’s my version for the “Fall into a QAL”:
I’ve been trying to use some of the same fabrics in all of the blocks but the green is new. The brown has been used in all four blocks and the yellow in three of them.
I love doing mystery quilts but it’s a challenge to keep the colors consistent throughout the project. I’m already just about out of the light tan that I started with for the background. Glad that this piece called for green!
Now onto another important issue…..
I plan on doing some web upgrades starting tomorrow. I’ve had a lot of errors popping up which need to be taken care of. So this site, along with my other blog, “Just a Slice of Life in Perfect” might be off-line. If I do it right, it shouldn’t be for long! If all goes well, I’ll be continuing my “Crafty Bag” on Tuesday.
I’m also putting up some vacation snaps over on “Just a Slice of Life in Perfect” so stop on over there on Friday and see how much fun we had!
I’ll be back!
