Fall into a QAL
Almost done.
Well, it could be done.
I decided to frame the blocks with the light tan background with a dark brown and then darker blocks with a happy yellow. Because I didn’t have enough fabric left to do one color around all of them!
The nice thing about framing the blocks this way is that if the block is undersized or oversized, after the frame goes on, all the blocks can be trimmed to the same size.
All of my blocks were unfinished at 16″.
And when I put them together a 46 1/2″ x 62″ quilt.
I’ve got a really great bright lamp on my cutting table and while I was pinning all the blocks then the rows together I could really appreciate all of the bright colors. It really is quite cheerful!
I’m very happy with it but…..
I think it’s too small. I was planning on making this nap-quilt size which is 54″-60″ inches wide by 68″-76″ long.
So, I could say it’s finished….
But, it’s not. I’ll add a frame around the entire quilt to bring it up to a better size. I’d like to use one of the orange fabrics but I’m all out and I bought all of those at a quilt shop in North Dakota. (No, I’m not going to ND in November. Or anytime between October and March.)
My little local quilt shop doesn’t carry any of the oranges I used. Already checked.
So I gotta do some research and order something online. Which means it will be a while before this lovely gets finished!
On to something else!

Oh this setting definitely is the best! Cheery and each block shines.
Definitely too chilly to go to ND for fabric!
