Dinosaurs Quilt—So Much Progress
I went off to DC for a long weekend visit with my daughter and her family. That was on March 2nd. The Dinosaurs quilt was a bunch of large blocks at that point.
Had a great time. Thought the cherry blossoms might have started coming out. But no. A little too early. But there a lot of other flowering trees in bloom.
Walked around the tidal basin.
Flew home on the 7th and WHAM I’ve had Covid ever since! The perils of travel!
When I tested positive I was all–“I get to stay home and read and sew!” No meetings, no volunteering, no grocery shopping. How much fun is that? Kind of like an extended vacation. Then I went to bed for 3 days. (Not fun at all!)
But I did finally get well enough to work on the Dinosaurs quilt. And I’m basting it! Yippee! (Except basting is my least favorite part of quilting!)
I’m tried a new method of basting–following Christa quilts example. I usually wall baste in my garage and just spray right there but this quilt is too big for that wall. So I’m using my temporary design wall–spraying the batting on both sides on a table in my garage and then putting it on the backing and applying the front. Should have taken pictures but I wasn’t sure that it was going to work. Next time! (Actually I’m not really sure I like how it worked. I might have to “tweak” it a bit.)
Anyhow…..I’m still testing positive so I think this quilt might get finished!
Yippee! I can continue my hermit life—sewing and reading.

Looks great! Sorry to hear about COVID. It really wipes you out for a while. Hang in there
