Dinosaurs Quilt Finally Finished!
And photographed!
This might be my very last post about this quilt that has only taken me SEVEN months to make.
Terry and I went out to the back yard to take some photos and it was too large for him to hold up. And he’s six foot. So I enlisted two tall sewing friends to hold it up for me in the Old Homosassa Learning Center.
This quilt pattern is from Elizabeth Hartman and finishes at 69″ x 85″. I put it on the queen size bed in my grandkids bedroom. This is the most colorful room in the house. If I made it just a bit larger, it would be perfect here. But I don’t think I’ll be making this one again anytime soon. All the little bits!
But I will eventually make a pillow sham for Arthur with these two dinosaurs.
Eventually because I have other quilts to finish first!
I hung it up in our guest bedroom to get another shot.
A couple of snaps of the binding….
And the label….
We are flying to DC for his birthday and I need to get it there. I’m afraid to ship it. So much work. What if it gets lost in the mail? Or damaged! If I check it on my flight, will they lose the luggage? Been there. Done that!
A sewing friend suggested rather than shipping the quilt, ship my clothes for our next visit and take the quilt in my carry-on. Smart!
I learned a lot making this quilt. The pattern was great but difficult. Well, it was for me. I’m really glad it is finished and I can move onto my next quilty project! Which will definitely be easier!
