DC Weekend
I had truly planned on putting a post here about making the “plus-sign” bags in any size. And I was working on it…..but I wasn’t happy with the final version and now I’m out of time!
And I have excuses…..
I made the first example tote last week but I never make just one. And really thought I’d have the second done by Wednesday so I could get some pics. And then write some instructions……
But……
I was gone for a long weekend. Home Monday but Tuesday seemed to disappear and Wednesdays are always busy with meetings, etc.
Except to be honest, I canceled my web committee meeting which is usually on Wednesday because I needed to go to Target. Because I needed some retail therapy. Our closest Target is a county away. Just needed to go. And then I needed to go to lunch. Because perhaps I needed junk food. And then. I had my ukulele group. Which I consider music therapy.
(Don’t know why I needed so much therapy!)
And now it’s Thursday, so instead, I’ll share some photos from our travels. And will post next Tuesday all about making different size bags in the easy-peasy plus-sign method. (Or not. I might need more therapy.)
I might be posting more “travel” stories in the future since I intend to get out and see more this year! I hope I don’t bore you too much. I promise to only post amazing photos. (Just kidding, what’s amazing to me might not be amazing to you!)
And where was I for my long weekend that totally wrecked my posting schedule?
We went to DC to see my daughter, her husband, and Arthur our grandson. I love going to DC. No matter how many times we go, there is always something new to see. This time we went to the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America, the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, the National Air and Space Museum at the Udvar-Hazy Center in VA, and walked around the Tidal Basin to see the cherry trees and the monuments. We did a lot in one weekend! (Plus I got to totally love on my absolutely adorable grandson. Have I already mentioned that he is a genius? Like all of my grandkids!)
The flowers are amazing in DC. All different kinds of daffodils, tulips and other spring flowers along with so many species of trees in bloom.
We walked around the Tidal Basin on Sunday. The cherry blossoms bloomed early this year and they were stunning!
And we had to have a family selfie!
Of course I wanted to bring an Easter basket for Arthur with goodies. More about that in my next post!
It was a great trip and I already miss Arthur! He is coming to visit me in just a couple of weeks! Yippee!
