Christmas Hostess Gifts
I missed posting all of last week. I actually thought that I had some posts scheduled and didn’t realize until last Friday that they weren’t posted at all! WordPress, the software I use to write this blog, did a major upgrade last week. I’m still struggling with it. It’s probably supposed to be easier but not so far! Guess I should keep a closer watch on my blogs!
Anyhow, most of my Christmas craziness is over. Already held a party…
I have attended several other parties and ate way too many sugary Christmas treats.
Sent the North Dakota family their presents, my daughter and her husband are scheduled to come the week after Christmas, and the Tampa kids and grandkids will be here for New Year’s Eve.
So I even have more time to procrastinate on buying gifts! I might even be able to get everything in after Christmas sales! Win!
I know it’s late, this post should have been up LAST week but you still have time to make hostess gifts for any parties you might be attending.
Here are some ideas that I have used in the past or will be making in the future.
This has been my handmade hostess gift this year. I posted how to make hot pads and potholders. These are fun, quick, and easy and everyone so far has liked them.
Something I make one or two of every year is aprons. The tutorial for the first one is from Sew4Home.com. You can check out my apron post here. The second apron below was originally a tea towel!
I made these coasters and coaster trays for gifts two years ago. Easy and fun!
And just as easy is a Mug Rug! Matching coasters and cookies make the gift complete!
Tea towels are also easy and fun. You can follow my Basic Tea Towel post. For the following tea towels, the trees are triangles and the stumps are little rectangles. All appliqued with a blanket stitch. Add an inexpensive ornament and you have a special gift!
I have not yet made up these soup bowl cozies yet in Christmas fabric. Maybe that will be next year’s hostess gift!
Want to add that my husband LOVES these!
I hope this helped you out in deciding what hostess gifts to hand out this year!
