Changes
I’ve been thinking a lot lately.
About stuff.
And about changes. Which are inevitable.
That is the very first title of the very first WordPress post back on May 1st, 2012.
I had been writing my website in HTML and the change I was referring to was that I was bringing it over to the blogging software WordPress. I have no idea how long I had been writing the website prior to WordPress because I didn’t keep a record of the old website.
And there was a photo of a hummingbird on that very first WordPress post.
Close to 14 years!
Zowie!
My life has changed drastically in that period and I’m sure I’ll have many challenges in the next several years.
The Changes that I am referring to today is that I am working on shutting down both of my websites, the sewing and crafting blog, DesignsbyKTGreen.com and KTGreenDesign.com.
I have been considering shutting down the blogs for several months now. I have lots of reasons but mostly I feel like it’s time to move on.
My web hosting subscription expires in June 2026 so my goal is to have all of my previous posts saved to an external hard drive so I can refer to them when necessary–one of the reasons I write the tutorials is so I can read them!
There are a bunch of free tutorials and instructions on both websites. If you are interested in any of them, you have a few months to download them. I will still be available through email, ktgreendesign@gmail.com and will try to answer any questions regarding my posts that you may have.
I might continue posting until June. Haven’t really decided yet–my mind is a bit cluttered right now!
I do appreciate all the emails and comments that I have received over the years. Thanks for reading and following along!
Kathy

So sad to hear, but I understand, life happens and change is inevitable.
I originally got onto your site as your name struck a cord with me. My daughter is K Green. I have been reading your blog for awhile and I have been inspired by your productivity.
Wishing you all the best and thanks for sharing all of your projects and family adventures.
Thank you for your kind words and supporting me all this time. I am so productive because I have to keep busy or go over the deep end. Just kidding, but I do like to keep busy. Only so many hours a day and I want to make the most of them! But now my husband has health issues and besides all the stuff I have always done, I’m learning to be a handy man, too! Plus, the whole WWW is changing and I’m not ready to step up to AI. I have really enjoying posting and hearing from readers. Thank you again.
Life changes. I will miss reading your posts and sewing tips and travels. I always like getting a glimpse of North Dakota. Thank you for directing me to 2 quilt shops and helping me with paper piecing. Good luck to you both and thank you.
Thanks Pamela! I do appreciate your kind words and that you followed me all this time. Posting was fun but I seem to be spending many hours outside of my sewing room so trying to keep up has been difficult. I have always said that change is good and I’m hoping that is true for me this time!

Change is good! So embrace all the changes coming your way. Best wishes!
