Back on the Nature Coast
We were loving our summer in North Dakota, spent a lot of time with our North Dakota kids and took a few trips with the grandkids. We really enjoyed the amazing warm but dry weather.
But the leaves were changing, the evenings a little cooler, and a hurricane had hit the gulf coast of Florida. Time to go back to Homosassa.
We were very fortunate. A seven foot storm surge virtually destroyed the sea level homes in our little community. Our house is built eight feet above and we live on the Chassahowitzka Nature Preserve which is a sea marsh that absorbs a lot of the surge. We got four inches of water in our garages. Nothing compared to the devastation our neighbors are dealing with.
A few appliances in the garage bit the dust, my butterfly gardens are dead, and we had a lot of tree debris and rubbish in the yard. While we have been busy doing the clean up, unpacking, and organizing, I have not been doing anything crafty. I expect to get back into my creative cave by the weekend and start working on new projects to share!
