Burrito Style Pillowcase

In an effort to spruce up our guest bedroom for our expected holiday visitors, I thought I’d make some new pillowcases using the Burrito Style method. I’ve read about the Burrito Style Pillowcase many times on several blogs.  Easy. Quick. Your life will be changed. And Sew4home.com posted their version which made me really want to try it. Sew4Home is one of my … ….oh there’s more

flamingo

So are you getting ready for the holidays?  We are supposed to get company.  Which always gets me into high gear! I love having visitors! So I’ve been doing this and that to get ready.  Projects that have patiently been waiting in the garage are finally getting attention. The flamingo got a pretty pink paint job and sparkly new lights. It’s finally been cool … ….oh there’s more

Made for Adley Block

Waaaaaaaay back in March 2015, I ordered this fabric… To make this quilt…. That had to be finished in October because that’s what the patch says! This is definitely the nicest quilt I’ve made so far.  Also took me the longest. I kept procrastinating. So many excuses! First I had to learn how to use the embroidery feature on my … ….oh there’s more

The Dolls new 'dos

Doll Hair. It’s been my nemesis. They start out looking like this… And end up looking like this…. The Wee Wonderful girls had a wonderful beginning… But once little hands had them in their possession….. (This doll actually looked a lot better than the other two when I got them but Jes decided that they needed new hair cuts right … ….oh there’s more

Block Three -- November -- Quilt as you Go

For the November “Quilt as You Go Block” I was looking for a block to represent the month. Thought about pumpkins, turkey, thankfulness, pie……  And finally found the pattern “Turkey Tracks” on Pinterest.  Thought that was appropriate. Here’s my version: If you use your imagination, yes, you can see four turkey tracks there! The first block I checked out called … ….oh there’s more

Wee Wonderful Costume Party

Do you know about Wee Wonderful Dolls? A few years ago I was looking for the perfect doll pattern for my perfect granddaughters. Preferably free.  But fell short.  Nothing out there I liked. Until I came across the Wee Wonderful blog.  I was smitten. And actually spent some money and bought this pattern. Totally worth it. Of course, I made some … ….oh there’s more

Mr. Bones Block

Last month I messed up one of the totes I was working on and turned it into a quilt block.  Which gave me the idea to start working on a Quilt as You Go quilt. This is the block for October: As usual, I was running out of time when I threw this block together.  I had planned on making a … ….oh there’s more

Binding

binding

I was trying to think of a clever title for this post.  Like ‘bless be the ties that bind’. And I even did a google search. Lots of binding stuff.  Then I decided that I was wasting way too much time on a very trivial part of the post.  I got other stuff to do! So I’m moving on and … ….oh there’s more

The Perfect Market Bag

(I love that fabric) I also gave a tote to the person that commented the most and that was Terry.  She not only commented, she actually read the tutorials!  Terry picked the Perfect Market Bag. I like to think everything I … ….oh there’s more

Tutorial for the Perfect Market Bag

Embroidary Hello in Market Bag

Finally I put together the tutorial for the Perfect Market Bag! Measuring 12 3/4″ high, 12″ wide and 6″ deep, it’s big enough to carry flea market finds but small enough not to whack anyone in the head while your hunting for those treasures.  I’ve double stitched all the seams to make it extra strong and the strap has two layers of fleece so … ….oh there’s more
