Nesting Tables, Updated, Upscaled, and Updazzled

Posted on January 7, 2016 by Kathy GreenJanuary 7, 2016
nesting tables

I’ve had these little tables for many many many years.  Got them at Cost Plus World Market when we had a place in Houston.  (Love that store and we don’t have any in the Tampa Bay area) I always wanted to put a glass mosaic top on them.  Something unique.  Something I created myself. I painted the tables white. Moved … ….oh there’s more

Easy-Peasy Boxed Cushions

I’m not sure if Florida has a state color.  I do know that the state bird is the northern mockingbird, and the state animal is the Florida panther.  Well, that’s the land mammal.  The marine mammal is the manatee. Cause I looked it up, So much useless information out there on the www. Anyhow, back to the state color.  There doesn’t seem … ….oh there’s more

A Pillow for Great Grandma

cardinal pillow

Cardinals. My MIL loves them. Everytime I see her she asks if the cardinals are visiting my bird feeders. Every time she visits, she sits and watches the cardinals.  Every time. So I buy her cardinals. Not the REAL birds.  Cardinal things. I think she loves them.  Or maybe she’s just pretending.  Nah, she loves them. I’ve bought her many … ….oh there’s more

From Tea Towel to Apron

aprons

So I bought these tea towels on a treasure hunt– That were too cute to use as tea towels. I turned the first one into a pillow. And I love it, even though Rudolph kind of looks a little like he has a bloody nose. And the second is now an apron. I followed the two part video tutorial from Missouri Quilt … ….oh there’s more

Christmas Ornament Pillow

I made this pillow last year and featured it on my other website, “Just a Slice of Life in Perfect”. But, it’s such a cute pillow and it looks lovely with the Rudolph pillow, I thought my new readers might want to recreate it. (And yes, you’ll be reading about that embroidered pillow in the future.) I was browsing through all those … ….oh there’s more

Forest Quilt from Purl Bee

I’m a beginner quilter and am trying to learn new methods by making a quilt block each month in the “Quilt as You Go” method.  Most people would start with January but I got this great idea in September and have been creating a block to depict each month. For my December quilt block I wanted to make these Christmas trees. They … ….oh there’s more

Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer Pillow, Envelope Style from tea towel

It’s finally autumn in Florida which means the busy outdoor season.  My husband Terry and I are both involved in several community groups and our big fund-raiser for the Civic Club is an Arts, Crafts and Seafood Festival.  Our little village is closed down and over 40,000 people come to visit.  Terry and I are both volunteers and there is an unbelievable … ….oh there’s more
