In the Garden

Posted on August 1, 2017 by Kathy GreenJuly 31, 2017

You’ve probably seen on the news that Tropical Storm Emily hit southern Florida yesterday.  It was a big surprise.  Fortunately it isn’t supposed to get this far north.  But I went out and took a bunch of photos of my yard just in case the wind does come through and knock everything down.  Thought I’d share them with you! Some … ….oh there’s more

Fun Tea Towels

tea towels

I’ve been traveling! Went on a “girl trip” last week to visit an old friend in Tennesee. And I made a new friend! Of course, I wanted to take a handmade hostess gift but I waited to start on it the day before we left.  I really wasn’t procrastinating, I was working on another sewing project that just wouldn’t cooperate. … ….oh there’s more

Let’s Get Organized — Thread Drawer, Part 2

Let's Get Organized -- Thread Drawer, Part 2

Like I posted last Thursday, this is my most popular pin. 56,000 pins.  There would have been more but I moved it from my other website to this one.  Lost all the original pins when I did that. Anyhow, I kept getting comments about using golf tees instead of dowels.  Hmmmmmm. I’m always looking for better ideas. So Terry bought … ….oh there’s more

Let’s Get Organized! Or not!

Let's get Organized!

Before we start talking about all that organizing stuff, Let’s talk about Pinterest. I have a few “things” that get pinned a LOT!  Number 2 is this tea towel set. Cute, right? It’s been repinned 6,600 times.  WHAT!  I think a whole lot of people just like red and aqua together.  And it’s an easy project. This was the very … ….oh there’s more

Happy Independence Day

Our local firework event is already over and we are being laid back here in Old Homosassa this year.  Hoping to get a few of my sewing projects finished on our day off so I can share with you over the next few weeks! Be safe and enjoy the holiday! Kathy

In My Garden

In My Garden

I decided to take a break from sewing.  Work in the yard.  Get caught up on some web and graphic design. But… The summer coordinator at the Old Homosassa Learning Center had this really great idea to make covers for over the back of the chairs that the kids use.  She and her assistant went to Goodwill and bought 25 … ….oh there’s more

I was a week late, but I did finish the quilt for the newlyweds. I wrapped it up and sent it off and then looked at these photographs which I had taken a few days earlier. Not my best snaps, but anyhow….. This quilt is based on the free pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop. I say based because I wanted … ….oh there’s more

So we had a wedding….

Posted on June 1, 2017 by Kathy GreenMay 31, 2017 2

And it was beautiful As all weddings should be. The colors were pink and green. I planted a LOT of pink….and everything else is green anyhow.  But… pink didn’t do as great as…. every other color in the universe! There was a cool classic car donated for a Kodak moment.  (Which according to my husband was worth big buckets of … ….oh there’s more

full swing quilt

After giving myself permission to NOT make the quilt for the upcoming wedding….. Hey, I had all of the fabric.  Had to try. The wedding is Saturday.  In my back yard.  I still have to add the borders, baste, quilt, and bind.  Not sure if I’ll get it done but I’m making a valiant effort. More next week!

Quilt of Many Colors

Quilt of Many Colors

I made this quilt a few years ago and posted about it on my other website, KTGreenDesign.com. It is definitely one of my favorite quilts.  I like all the solid colors and the entire design.  I based it on this quilt that I found on pinterest. I’ve been trying to move my sewing posts from the other blog to here. … ….oh there’s more
